Le programme MFA in Theatre Directing est le premier programme de master entièrement basé sur la pratique de ce type en Irlande. Il a été introduit à la suite d'une vaste consultation auprès de la communauté théâtrale irlandaise et constitue une réponse directe aux besoins déclarés de l'industrie et des artistes émergents talentueux.

Le programme de scénographie est spécialement conçu pour permettre aux étudiants de se spécialiser dans un domaine de la scénographie (conception de décors, de costumes ou d'éclairage) ou de combiner les disciplines comme ils le souhaitent (par exemple, la conception de décors et de costumes ou la conception de décors et d'éclairage). En plus des cours et ateliers de base, les cours individuels et en groupe dispensés par le responsable du design du Lir seront un élément clé de la formation.

Le paysage théâtral est constamment façonné par des créateurs de théâtre qui présentent des œuvres originales ou réinventent des classiques. Les nouveaux écrits et adaptations sont essentiels à ce processus. Le Master en Beaux-Arts en écriture dramatique de la Lir Academy offre à chaque étudiant la possibilité de développer et d'affiner ses compétences d'écriture uniques afin que chaque pièce écrite soit la meilleure possible.

Ce programme de master propose deux spécialisations : une en musiques populaires, cultures sonores et médiatiques et une autre en études théâtrales, culturelles et médiatiques. Chaque spécialisation englobe à la fois des pratiques émergentes et historiquement établies en musique, en théâtre et en arts de la scène.

Le seul cours du genre au monde, les étudiants étudient tout, de l'histoire de Shakespeare dans la société, à la critique littéraire et aux pratiques théâtrales; avant de mettre leurs connaissances en pratique à travers une pièce de théâtre nouvellement conçue en réponse au travail de Shakespeare. Ce programme créatif et ambitieux est idéal pour les universitaires en herbe, les acteurs, les écrivains, les réalisateurs, les administrateurs artistiques, ainsi que toute personne ayant un vif intérêt pour Shakespeare. Les étudiants ont la possibilité d'étudier la vie et l'œuvre de Shakespeare et de les combiner avec le plaisir de produire de nouvelles œuvres créatives. Il rassemble les intérêts académiques, théâtraux et civiques de Shakespeare pour encourager et inciter les étudiants à réfléchir à de nouvelles approches de Shakespeare dans le monde moderne.

Theatre for Young Audiences is a practical training program for performers and makers from a range of disciplines, that explores approaches to making work for, by, and with children and young people. Underpinning the course is the ambition to define Theatre for Young Audiences as a cutting-edge arts practice, outside (or perhaps alongside) the Applied Theatre framing that so often dominates this area of training, encouraging co-creative processes that balance the sensibilities of the adult artist and the creative voice of children and young people.

The first and only MA of its kind to focus on queer performance, this course offers broad training in a range of queer performance practices, delivered by renowned queer artists, theatre-makers, academics, and researchers. Fiercely socially engaged, political, experimental, and interdisciplinary, the course provides an in-depth, comprehensive examination of queer performance practice, studying its themes, methodologies, and untapped possibilities.

This course is the only postgraduate program in the world that takes candidates through a course of study that culminates in their receiving Designated Linklater Teacher status along with the MFA degree. A deep dive into the Linklater Voice method is the foundation of the MFA. The program was designed in close collaboration with Ms. Linklater and reflects her ideas of what a twenty-first-century postgraduate course for actor-teachers should look like. It is, in part, a voice-centred actor-training, rooted in Linklater’s approach to voice as fundamental to a whole system.

International Theatre Practice and Performance (ITPP) offers training for multi-disciplinary practitioners, with elements of acting, directing, writing, ensemble training, and contemporary performance. Multidisciplinary training with elements of acting, directing, writing, and collaborative ensemble practices. This program, designed specifically for US-based students, is delivered in partnership with the National Theater Institute (NTI) in Connecticut.

Arthaus. Berlin International School offers the international performing arts community full-time and part-time training programs on the postgraduate level in the field of devised theatre and performance. Practitioners with a background in theatre, performance, dance, circus arts, visual arts, design, architecture, directing, writing, or choreographing, can enroll in one of our MA or MFA degree programs or complete the training with a professional development certificate.

This advanced and rigorous MA/ MFA Contemporary Directing Practice program offers an experiential two-year course, where students will develop their vocabulary and find their own voice and vision as a director while acquiring and honing a diverse variety of skills, techniques, tools, and devices.

This program focuses on creating an ensemble, performer training, theatre-making, and performative writing. Informed by critical reflection and practice research, the uniqueness of this program lies in the opportunity to develop and present original work. Developed and led by renowned Actor Musician Jeremy Harrison, this vocational program builds on and extends the work developed on the College’s ground-breaking BA (Hons) Actor Musicianship program, drawing on our strong links to theatre-makers, directors, choreographers, writers, musical directors and performers involved in the development of this innovative area of theatre practice.

The MA/MFA Actor/Performer Training is a practice-based program for those seeking intensive advanced training as actors and performers alongside rigorous academic study and performance research. The program focuses specifically on actor/performer training, theatre creation, performative writing, informed critical reflection, and practice research.
