Biotechnology is undoubtedly important for its implications in various sectors of everyday life, utilizing cellular and bio-molecular processes that pave the way for the generation of cutting-edge new technologies and products that help improve life and nature in general. In particular, Biotechnology is the technology that uses living microorganisms to develop or create different products. Examples include the use of yeast in cheese and bread making, and the use of viral vectors for the creation of human vaccines (ie SARS-CoV-2 vaccine). Overall, recent advances in Biotechnology had a positive impact on the production of healthy food, improvement of the medical sector, reducing the world’s environmental footprint, and reducing the rate of infectious diseases. As a result, Biotechnology is widely considered to be the engine of the global economy in the 21st century. -

La M.Sc. en biologie moléculaire et biotechnologie est une heure de 30 crédits qui est offert à temps plein et à temps partiel au sein du département de biologie. Les étudiants doivent compléter 24 crédits de cours en plus des 6 crédits affectés à la recherche et à la réalisation d'un M.Sc. thèse. -
